The Socks Are Coming Off

Evidently, these are not the lucky socks I hoped they would be.  I've worn them the last two Sundays and my Chicago Bears have lost both weeks. I bought these to celebrate the end of the holdout this offseason not realizing they were so long that I could cover my entire leg with them.  Ha!  They really look so ridiculous I thought they would surely be a lucky charm.

Next week, its shorts, Payton jersey, and bare legs.   I've got to do my part to get my team back on track!!!  :)

Finished Projects

I completed a few of my crafting projects so I thought I'd share.  Like I said before, I like to start projects but oftentimes I never get around to finishing them.  I had to laugh when I see which projects I finished.  They were all so easy, I shouldn't even consider them crafting.

First up, have you guys been seeing white owls all over the place like I have (maybe I'm looking for them and don't realize it)?  I semi-like owls so I thought I would see how one would look in my house.
I found this out-of-date owl for $12 at an antique store in town and thought it would be perfect to spray paint.

What do you think?  I like him!  If nothing else, I think he'll blend in well with my Halloween decor.

Next up are the scrapbook paper coasters I've seen on several blogs/DIY sites.  These are so super easy.  And my new paper cutter helped because I have a hard time cutting a straight line and I would not have been able to get the same size squares every time without it.
Cute, but I'm not sure what to do with all 8 that I made!  The tiles were only 18 cents and the Mod Podge and scrapbook paper weren't much more than that, so these were cheap too.

And last, the easiest of them all....
I have a slight obsession with fonts, monograms, and numbers.  For this project, I cut a piece of scrapbook paper and stuck it in an old, plastic, gold 5X7 frame that I spray painted black.  Then I just put scrapbook stickers on the glass for our street number.  This one turned out to be my favorite of the finished "crafts".   It would be cute with an inspirational word too.

I'm still thinking about the sewing machine and appreciate the advice some of you gave.  I need to make a decision because I continue finding projects I want to try that I need it for.

Golf

Yesterday, Brad and I went to Stonelinks near Scott to play golf.  Brad has played there many times, but yesterday was a first for me.  They tout that they are the only true links course in Arkansas.  There definitely weren't many trees....
It was so nice because we never had anyone behind us.  I hate feeling rushed!  Especially if I have my camera which I rarely take to the golf course. Can you imagine how annoying it would be to see some girl snapping pictures on the golf course when she should be hitting the ball??
The weather has been so mild lately, but wouldn't you know it, the day we want to play golf it's high 90's!  Oh well, it looks like it might rain the rest of the week so we might not have another chance to play.
It seemed like this course had a lot of sand because we found it more than once.  Or twice.  Sand is always better than water, though, and I only put one in water!  And we found several balls, so we made up for my lost one.  I remember before I played golf, I would ride with Brad in the cart and the highlight was finding balls.  It's actually still a highlight, but not as much as a birdie or a well hit ball!
I also remember the first time I lost a ball.  I was so excited because it meant the ball had went far enough to get out of our sight!  Now, it just makes me mad.
We actually scored pretty well.  We always scramble because my play is unpredictable and would probably slow us down.  One of my goals is to play a round on my own.  Maybe after some more lessons.

I didn't actually start playing golf until after we moved to Little Rock.  I had been to the driving range a few times in Batesville, but that was always more frustrating than fun.  Partly because I was trying to play with Brad's clubs.  When I finally decided I wanted to play, I got a cheap set of ladies clubs and a pair of golf shoes and have been hooked ever since.  I've since gotten a few better quality clubs (and about 5 more pairs of shoes!) but still use the irons from my first set.  I'll get some new ones when I prove I'm worth the price!
